• Kara May  "Posing in Action"

Kara is going to work with models, hands-on, and show you how she guides her clients, making them comfortable enabling her to photograph natural, genuine emotions.  She’ll share tips and tricks on working with children and teens that she’s learned throughout her 10+ years in the industry.  

• Tamara Burross ~From the Treetop Photography   "Editing with Tamara"

Tap into your imaginative side and explore methods that will spark your ingenuity and help you release the art within. Join Tamara as she demonstrates her creative process and artistic approach toward editing. She will share her extensive knowledge of action and texture application, as well as basic work flow tips to help you achieve beautiful results without compromising image integrity. 

• Kimmy Howard  "Newborn Photography"

Kimmy will share all of her newborn "tricks" as well as teach on parent prep, lighting, workflow, and posing.  Her business of 4.5 years has been a success in the 3 states that she has lived in this short time & she will be sharing different tips to help grow a successful business & develop a faithful client base.  She will also share on how she has developed her brand/style & how it has helped her stand out in the newborn photography world.

• Laura Winslow  "Marketing and Client Relations"

Laura will share her marketing strategies with us and show us how she keeps her clients happy and always coming back for more. She has created an amazing business and crazy popular blog and she has great ideas to expand your network and to market yourself in field saturated with photographers. 

• Marsha Mifsud 

I get the fun job of creating an amazing retreat for women photographers! I work extremely hard making sure that you will adore your four days and three nights in Alys Beach! I love the opportunity to bring inspiring speakers together with women who strive to create a business they love and is also profitable and successful!

We are so excited to announce the next Savvy Workshop! We are still finalizing dates but we know the location...Alys Beach! The October 2012 workshop was a huge success and we loved the wonderful location in Alys Beach, Florida! If you would like to be on the "list" to have the first chance at purchasing a seat at this wonderful workshop, email us here (thesavvyphotographer@gmail.com) and let us know to add you to the "list".

The perspective dates are February, 2013 and May, 2013. Let us know which date you prefer (February or May)..and be prepared for a fabulous week of learning!

Registration is open for those wanting a seat! You can purchase your seat at the Savvy Store...choose the accommodations your prefer and grab it quick. If you'd like, you can pay 50% down now and remaining balance is due by September 1, 2012. When purchasing, use the code WORKSHOP and that will allow you to split the payments. The tickets are nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend, you may sell your seat to someone else.

Marsha Mifsud, the creator of the Savvy Photographer blog, and the host of the Savvy Sisterhood workshop is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring together a group of women who arrive as attendees and depart as sisters: Savvy Sisters. Marsha started the Savvy blog on a whim and it became wildly popular in its first few months. Within the first year, The Savvy Sisterhood Workshop on the Waterfront was dreamed up as a retreat for her readers to come together to learn, be inspired, and build friendships while being completely pampered. The first workshop sold out quickly and the attendees were treated to the fabulous amenities at the Inn at Perry Cabin St Michaels, Maryland (which was also the backdrop for the movie Wedding Crashers). The entire Inn was bought out for the Savvy workshop and the attendees went home with a better business sense and a great new group of friends. This year Marsha wanted to create something different for the 2012 retreat and while scouting the best beaches, she discovered Alys Beach and knew she had found the perfect location.  Alys Beach is the crown jewel of Florida’s Emerald Coast. It is a beach community founded in New Urbanism and built to exacting standards for the utmost in luxury living. It is a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Located along Florida’s Gulf Coast, Alys Beach boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With a carpet of sugar-fine sand descending into crystal-clear waters, this stretch of Gulf Coast is unmatched in beauty.
